Freedom Yoga at Project Yoga Richmond

  • Project Yoga Richmond 6517 Dickens Place Richmond, VA, 23230 United States (map)

Class open to all levels. Beginners welcome.

This class is intended to share the gift of yoga with adults with intellectual disabilities, with specific adaptations for Down Syndrome. Yoga practitioners of all levels and abilities are invited to join this lovely opportunity to share an hour of their practice. Invite freedom into your hearts and minds as you connect breath with movement and intention. Jenny will lead you though safe and uplifting stretching and breathing with only one requirement…that you SMILE. Feel free and inspired as you flow, and leave with a sense of contentment and light. Focus for this class will be FUN!

When Sara Noftsinger, a Special Olympic champion swimmer and diabetic, finished her first yoga class, she was asked her how she felt, following practice. She simply responded: “Freedom.”

The teacher from that day, Becky Eschenroeder, has created a series of classes at Project Yoga Richmond especially for Sara and her friends. Classes began in March of 2013.

Upcoming Dates that Becky is teaching from 12:30-1:30pm:

January 14

I look forward to sharing space with you.
