As I sit on the top of the mountain, my physical body is high above the clouds, but my heart sinks to the depths of the black ocean. I know it is an inevitable part of life, but my little girl brain knows he will live forever…

I truly believe that everyone comes into your life for a reason. Call it cliché, but I do believe. Even when we don’t understand the behavior, thoughts, or actions of another, if we open our eyes (and our hearts) and look past the very top layer; there is always something to learn. 

In the beginning: soft and fragile; protected and watched over by others having been through it all…so far; floating freely with no direction with the only option to trust. Not even aware of these wings...yet.

Tell me what it is you long for…

Something deep within me knows. Knows where I have been and where I am going. It is not a knowing in my mind. It is a knowing deeply rooted in the depths of my soul. It is the animal of my body; constantly in touch with my instincts no matter how distracting the stories become. 

"Unexpected turbulence." Is there such thing as expected turbulence? Even when the captain announces that it is coming, we don't know exactly when. This of course, rings true in daily life as well (as turbulence unfortunately is not just reserved for airplanes).  It is a constant reminder that there is only so much to control and that there can actually be some relief in surrendering to that. Actually, if you change your perspective and see it as an adventure, it can turn out to be fun.

My kids at Brook Road Academy have been some of the most inspiring and impactfull of all....
3 years certainly flew by as I had the honor and opportunity to share practice with a group of high schoolers every Friday at 2 p.m. Never have I experienced such a school that encompassed so beautifully the energy of a family.

In 2012 I was asked to take a 20 hour kids yoga teacher training and then, shortly after, I was asked to be a facilitator of that training. I had no idea how my life was about to change.
