workshops

So much of the practice of yoga happens off the mat. Over the years, Tara has developed a series of yoga workshops that invites the participants to look at their practice as a whole, not stopping at the surface where the pose has reached its external peak, but diving deeper inward to unearth the shifts occurring inside. And it is through these shifts and discoveries that the practice of yoga is able to live on long after the mat has been rolled up. Her workshops are tailored to specific needs but always with the same open inviting space to meet students where they are that day.

1) contentment from within

How much time do you spend moving towards where you want to be versus being content with where you are? Where can you create space in your life? What would that space allow you to let in? What do you cling to (mentally & physically)? How could letting go of this allow you to let yourself live more fully and deeply?

Explore these questions and perhaps begin to work towards answers as you join Tara (Becky) for a journey into the philosophy behind Santosha, the second of the five Niyamas. Navigate towards contentment that exists within (no matter what life may have to offer) as we partake in journaling and discussion and flow through a Vinyasa practice. This will be followed by various practices that encourage finding that place of true acceptance and contentment, including progressive relaxation, visualization, and yoga nidra.

2) Full Circle: Yoga for cycling

Cycling is an awesome full-body workout that is a great tool for losing weight, staying healthy, and keeping in peak physical shape. But at the same time, the repetitive motion and strain can leave the body sore, tight, and achy, which can limit your muscle recovery and stamina, and make you prone to injury. Rejuvenate the body, and take your cycling to the next level by finding balance with a regular yoga practice!

In this workshop, yoga and cycling enthusiast Tara (Becky) will cover the benefits of incorporating a dedicated yoga practice into your weekly cycling training program. The practice will start with a brief discussion/intro, followed by a yoga practice, classwork, and discussion including a specific sequence purposefully designed to balance the body and mind of hard-core cyclers! This practice is certain to loosen all those tight spots, improve your breathing, and keep you peddling hard!

3) runner’s high: yoga for runners

In this workshop, yoga and running guru Tara (Becky) will cover the benefits of incorporating a dedicated yoga practice into your weekly training program. The practice will start with a 30-minute run, followed by a yoga practice, classwork, and discussion including specific sequences purposefully designed to balance the body and mind of hard-core runners! This practice is certain to loosen all those tight spots, improve your breathing, and keep you on your feet!

4) strength to surrender

Finding your “edge” in yoga requires listening to not only your body, but also to your heart and your mind; trusting that inner guide that comes from within. Mindfully toeing the lines of our “limits” is what makes us stronger. Learn how to invite challenges into your life and turn them into opportunities through the use of your own instincts, knowledge, and ability to trust and surrender.

Join Tara (Becky) on a journey of discovering your “inner guide” that leads you to that internal place of purity and trust that is always there no matter what life may look like on the outside. We will touch on the importance of needing to let go in order for transformation to occur and on finding courage to do so. It takes strength to let go and trust, and we will work towards that as we explore the meaning behind the Niyama, Ishvara Pranidhana (letting go).

This journey inward will include a combination of an intense physical practice with through provoking information, journaling, discussion, meditation, and long savasana that will allow the students to realize and connect with the importance of working as hard as they can but knowing when it is okay to stop, let go, and know it is okay to surrender - that it is even necessary sometimes.

5) wildly free to be

As we navigate into the 3rd and 4th Chakra (power center and heart), we will incorporate the idea of trusting and letting go (Ishvara Pranidhana). This exploration includes discussion, journaling, asana practice, and an in-depth look into the core of your being…working from the inside-out.

Prepare to embark on this journey as you join Tara (Becky) for three hours of exploring the philosophy behind Manipura, the third Chakra; Anahata, the fourth Chakra; and Ishvara Pranidhama, the fifth of the five Niyamas. Navigate towards that sense of freedom that exists within (no matter what life may have to offer) as we partake in journaling and discussion and flow through a Vinyasa practice, with some visualization as well.

6) druminyasa with tara (becky) eschenroeder & brad ellsworth

Drumming was the earliest form of tribal communication and has been used to celebrate significant ceremonial gatherings in many primitive cultures. Our daily lives are infused with rhythm; elements of nature, changes in seasons, and life cycles. We connect with the elements: earth, our roots…where we’re from sustains us. Water nourishes our souls while reminding us to go with the flow. Air feels wild, free and full of possibility. Fire ignites the passion within to bring those possibilities to life.

Navigating through this life, we are one with the elements. Feel the vibrations of the drums as you connect breath, heartbeat, and mind with the animal of your body. Join Tara (Becky) Eschenroeder of Great Abiding Yoga and percussionist Brad Ellsworth of Druminyasa, as you tune into your primal nature while getting in touch with your creative spirit.

7) yoga hikes

Yoga hikes are the paramount way to stay healthy and strong in mind, body, and spirit. Communing with the elements, including other human beings, fosters compassion; exploring our communities encourages a sense of pride and a desire to care for Mother Earth; hiking strengthens our bodies, and yoga helps us relax and strengthens our connection with soul. Yoga hikes may include vinyasa, meditation, mandala making, and so much more in addition to a hike through the beautiful outdoors near you.

12) Yoga to live music

14) it lies within

Are you ready to manifest the reality of your dreams? What would it be like to be living from a place of confidence, clarity and fulfillment? While also letting go of fear, self-doubt, and depletion. Imagine what is possible…then create it.
But it doesn’t feel like you’re living your truth right now. Maybe you find yourself back at your desk, counting down the hours until you can finally escape. Or feel like you’re living all week for Friday, but still spend your weekends trying to catch up with your busy life. And at the end of it all find yourself wondering…IS THIS IT?

The truth is, most of us live life on autopilot. We default to habits and routines without even thinking. The result? Feeling stuck and unfulfilled. It doesn’t have to be this way. In this workshop, I offer the tools you need to manifest and create your reality, from finding your life purpose to sustaining a business. Through the use of journaling and discussion, asana, and coaching techniques, together we will redesign how you approach your life so that every minute feels 100% authentically YOU. Your dream life can become your reality - I am here to help!

15) poetry of yoga

Infused with poetry from her self-published collections “Collecting Feathers,” “Landing hOMe,” and “Sacred Details,” Tara will take you on a journey hOMe. While drinking in the sacred sounds of heartbeat and breath, we will take the ability to listen and feel even deeper within. We will tap into that intuitive sense of knowing; how and when to move and when to be still. Allow yourself to reconnect to that sacred animal within and the poetry that is your practice, ultimately reminding us how to simply be free both on and off of the yoga mat as we continue to author the most epic novel of all; our life.

About the books:

“Collecting Feathers”

I was searching for something. I was searching and in the midst of doing so they began to present themselves to me....one by one. I had come to the realization that my Dharma and my purpose was so much bigger then my physical self and location. Fear had held me back for quite some time but it is only so long a bird can be held in cage. In this realization that flight was required in order to share the message that my teachers had given to me and all of their teachers had given to them, I was able to see and decided to trust in something so much bigger than myself.
Upon my searching they continued to present themselves to me as they still do... Sometimes in the form of a bouquet after a long walk through the woods. My path was being laid before me and I followed.Paying very close attention to where they appeared, who I was with and the intention behind why I was where, it begin to make sense. I return to the places where they find me the most with a continued reminder of the importance of non-attachment.
Feathers are not meant to be held down. I know I will return when the time is right. My searching and continues but I no longer feel lost. They are there to remind me that I am not alone. They are there to remind me of this path and this Dharma. They are there to remind me of the importance of my flight and each and every place they guide me to land. They are there to remind me of these wings that existed all along.I was searching for something, but now they find me. As I collect these feathers... As I spread These Wings... I am home.

“Landing hOMe”

In this collection of poems, Tara continues down the path of feathers that has been laid out before her. With every step and every quiet moment of pause, she can hear a call from deep within.
Her Dharma and her purpose led her over mountains and across oceans beyond her wildest dreams. The souls who she came into contact with provided deep and true rememberings upon gazing into eyes. The call persisted.

And so it was; as she ventured into the Appalachian Mountains, she experienced a feeling she had long since forgotten, yet was so familiar. Every hair on her body stood up and danced in the wind that rustled through the beech trees and white pines. Her feet made contact with the mossy Earth and she was held. The waterfalls beckoned to her tired and sunkissed skin, inviting her tears to flow. The mountains held her close and reminded her she would always be free.

This bird has finally landed. These poems have brought her hOMe.

“Sacred Details”

When was the last time you listened to something just to listen? When was the last time you gazed upon something or someone you love simply to be with them? We live in a society that is begging for us to be distracted and in the midst of a wild world patiently awaiting our return. This is where we get to choose...

Sacred Details is a conversation evolved into communion; a vehicle that allows heart and soul to be shared and sung; a reminder that if the path before you isn’t clear, to pause and notice what makes you come alive; to put yourself in the way of it

(and keep going).

Life is the quality of how you attend to the details.

“Collecting Feathers,” “Landing hOMe,” and “Sacred Detials” are available worldwide
