Blue Skies and Bird Cries

April 19, 2022 Rebecca Eschenroeder

Skies waking up in vibrant blue for the first time in years. He discards another shield from the day of the same hue; smiles now hidden.

Birds unapologetically crying in euphoric bliss; no longer quieted by roaring metal hums. She gazes in disbelief at the home of the soul she knew as her song of loss joins in harmony with feathered spirits.

Waters flowing and dancing in fresh clean sparkling Sun… cleanse and cool their faces; hot tears run dry.

Tiny blossoms now courageously open towards the golden light that beckons to them from above mirroring outstretched arms… vacant...empty.

Mother Earth STILL holding us with forgiveness and infinite chances. SHE will continue on.

Are we listening yet?
