Golden Hour Gratitude: A Sunset Yoga Hike
Sunday November 23, 3:30-6:00pm
Bearwallow Mountain Trail
4854 Bearwallow Mountain Road Hendersonville, NC, 28792
Join us the Sunday before Thanksgiving for a golden-hour wander through the woods.
We’ll move at an easy, conversational pace, pausing for breathwork and sensory “forest-bathing” prompts as the light softens.
At our overlook, we’ll drop into a short gratitude practice—moving, breathing, and reflecting on what’s been harvested this year and what we’re ready to lay down before winter.
Expect spacious cues, nature-as-prop, and a cozy closing ritual as the sun slips behind the ridge-line.
Your experience:
— Gentle 1.5–2.5 mile hike (unhurried, all levels)
— Standing flow (no mat needed), breathwork, and guided reflection
— Quiet moments for journaling or simply looking out over the hills
— A closing gratitude circle as dusk arrives
Bring:
layers, water, a warm layer/blanket or scarf, headlamp, sturdy shoes; optional: small sit-pad and journal/pen.
Who it’s for:
all levels; no yoga or hiking experience required.
Timing:
Sunday at sunset (arrive 15 min early). We’ll finish in twilight.
Weather:
light mist = yes; heavy rain/thunder = we reschedule and notify you by noon.
We will be meeting at Bearwallow Mountain Trail at 3:15 PM. Bearwallow Mountain is just 19 miles (35 mins) from downtown Asheville, on the way to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure.
Directions:
From Downtown Asheville: Take I-240 east and continue straight onto US Hwy 74-A East toward Chimney Rock. Follow 74-A East for about 12.5 miles (up a very long set of switchback curves) to the town of Gerton. Turn right on Bearwallow Mountain Road and go 2.1 miles to the top of the ridge and park on the side of the road (where pavement starts) near the gate in front of a dirt road (don't block gate).
This road is unpaved, but all cars should make it fine. We will meet at the parking area at the top of the road.
